Tanner Books is a queer-owned, independent bookstore founded in 2002, created to give queer stories a lasting, physical home. It brings together vintage print, contemporary releases, exclusive products, and original storytelling under one roof, with a focus on work that might otherwise be overlooked, forgotten, or lost.
We believe print still matters.
Our catalog includes vintage queer magazines, art and photography publications, small-press experiments, and hand-picked contemporary print. Many pieces are rare or one-of-a-kind, carrying the marks, energy, and personality of the eras that produced them.
Alongside the bookstore, Tanner Books develops its own editorial and media work: written features, long-form pieces, video interviews, and other exclusive content centered on queer lives, culture, and history.
At its core, Tanner Books is about access—access to culture, to artifacts, to stories, and to the physical objects that carry queer history forward. We aim to be a space for connection, discovery, and conversation, whether you’re a collector, a researcher, or someone encountering this material for the first time.
